Qatuwas - People Gathering Together

For thousands of years, the great ocean-going canoe formed an integral part of the lives of coastal First Nations. Reclaiming this ancient heritage, Native peoples of the Northwest Coast carved majestic canoes from centuries-old cedars and in 1993 paddled to a historic gathering of more than 3,000 people at Bella Bella, British Columbia.
