In 1923, at age 25, Asayo Murakami boarded a ship for Canada, a Japanese "picture bride" on her way to marry a stranger. She settled down in BC with a husband of her own choosing. This docudrama traces Asayo's story, beginning with her girlhood in Hiroshima, culminating in a reunion with a long-lost daughter.
