Tower Bawher

Tower Bawher

Constructivism was born out of the Russian Revolution of 1917, and this short animated film is filled with visual references to artists of who were part of this movement. The title of the film is an allusion to constructivist architect Vladimir Tatlin's tower, conceived in homage to the glory of the proletariat. Drawing on the tower's design, the film draws us continually upwards towards a utopian summit. But in the end, all of the grandiose, futuristic forms wind up crashing under the weight of ideology.
